Bloombilt Local connects a person who needs a local service (a plumber, an electrician, a cleaner) with one local business in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area. It is run by Bloombilt LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company. This page explains what we collect when you use it, who sees it, and when we delete it. Questions go to support@bloombilt.com.
What we collect
When you ask for a business, through ChatGPT, another AI assistant, or our API partners:
- The request: what you need done, the kind of service, your ZIP code (or your timezone, for remote work), and the deadline.
- How to reach you: your name, phone number and email address.
- Your consent: the exact sentence you agreed to before we shared anything, and when you agreed.
- Where it came from: for example ChatGPT, or another AI assistant.
If you sign in with a Bloombilt account (ChatGPT and other AI assistants ask you to before sending a request), our sign-in provider, Clerk, stores your email address, your name and your sign-in credentials.
We do not ask AI assistants for your street address or your precise location. We do not store the coarse location hint or the conversation identifiers ChatGPT sends with a request. We do not collect payment details, because you never pay us.
Who sees it
- One business at a time sees the request, without your contact details. When we offer your request to a business, it sees the kind of service, what you need, your ZIP code and the deadline. It does not see your name, phone number or email.
- Only the business that accepts gets your contact details. If a business declines or does not answer in time, we may offer the request, the same way, to another one. Your name, phone number and email go to exactly one business: the one that accepts. It contacts you directly.
- We never sell your information, share it for advertising, or give it to a list of competing businesses.
Who processes it for us
- Railway hosts the service and its database, in the United States.
- Clerk runs Bloombilt accounts and sign-in.
- Twilio delivers the text message that offers a request to a business. That message holds the request details, never your contact details.
The AI assistant you use (for example ChatGPT, from OpenAI) handles what you type into it under its own privacy policy.
How we protect it
Your name, phone number and email are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and stored apart from the request itself. They are decrypted only for the business that accepted your request. Connections to the service use TLS.
How long we keep it
We delete your contact details 180 days after you make a request. We keep the request itself, without your contact details, as a business record. Your Bloombilt account stays until you ask us to delete it.
Your choices
- Email support@bloombilt.com to get a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it and your account.
- You can disconnect Bloombilt Local in ChatGPT's settings at any time.
We do not use your information to train AI models.
Age
Bloombilt Local is for people 18 and older.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we share your contact details, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.
